Fellowship/ Membership
The IMSL
provides opportunities for a wide spectrum
of management professionals to
be engaged in its activities. Different categories of membership
are identified in order to draw such persons into the fold of
management learning and sharing.
The two main
membership categories are
-
Individual Membership, and
-
Corporate Membership.
In addition, to
the above main categories, the following memberships awarded to
distinguished individuals in management in Sri Lanka.
Fellows
This is the
highest professional distinction offered by the Institute. It is
awarded on invitation to senior management professionals and
academics that have made yeomen service towards the development
of management in Sri Lanka both at the national level and
corporate level as well as those who have rendered invaluable
contributions to the Institute.
Honorary fellowships are also awarded
to outstanding management professionals and academic who are non
members of the institute.
Fellows are entitled to use the
designatory letters FIM (SL)
Eligibility for Enrolment
Members
Shall be persons
elected by the Council of the Institute on the nomination of two
members, and upon such persons having satisfied the Council that
they have been engaged in the Profession of Management at Senior
Executive level for a period of five
(5) years
or
Persons who
possess a Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University or
recognized Institution, in Management, Business or in any of
the functional disciplines of
Management, who satisfy the Council that they have been engaged
in the Profession of Management at Senior Executive Level for a
Period Two (2) years.
Members are
entitled to use the designatory letters MIM (SL)
Associate
Members
Shall be persons
elected by the Council of the Institute, on the Nomination
of two (2) members upon such persons
having satisfied the Council that they have been engaged
in the Profession of Management at Executive Level for a period
of Five (5) years.
or
Persons who
satisfy the Council that they have obtained Professional
Qualifications in General or Specialized areas of Management,
and have been engaged in the Profession of Management at
Executive level for a period of Two (2) years.
Associate
Members are entitled to use the designatory letters – AMIM (SL)
Affiliate
Members
Shall be persons
engaged in the Profession of Management at a Supervisory level,
and have the potentiality for advancement in the Profession of
Management; and have the intention of obtaining Member Grade.
Students
Who have
satisfied the Council that they are following a course of
studies in Management at post secondary level, acceptable to the
Council of the Institute, and they should have intentions of
becoming Members of the Institute. They shall be entitled to the
use of all facilities of the Institute, but they shall not be
eligible to vote at any General Meeting of the Institute, or
elected as Office Bearer(s), Members of the Council.
Other levels of membership
i.
Founder Members: This is offered to the founder
members of the Sri Lanka Management Association as well as the
IMSL.
ii.
Life Members: Active Members of IMSL who has
continuously paid membership subscription to the institute
within the last 3 years, can apply for life membership.
iii.
Retired Members: IMSL members who have either
retired from active services or who have passed the age of 60,
can apply for this membership.

Fees
- Enrolment
Fee (compulsory) - Rs. 1,000/- (for all categories of
Members Grades) Payable at the time of enrolment
- Member -
Rs. 3,500/- per annum
- Associate
Member - Rs. 1,000/- per annum
- Affiliate
Member - Rs. 500/- per annum
- Corporate
/ Institutional Member - Rs. 10,000/- per annum
