The prestigious Institute of Management of Sri Lanka (IMSL) is pleased to announce the re-election of Prof. Sarath Kodithuwakku as its Honorary President for the tenure of 2024/25. The decision was made during the Annual General Meeting held on February 15, 2024, in Colombo. Prof. Kodithuwakku, a Senior Professor at the University of Peradeniya and currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, has been an esteemed figure in the field of professional management in Sri Lanka.
IMSL, established on July 31, 1986, and incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 67 on December 17, 1988, is the national apex body dedicated to promoting professional management in Sri Lanka. As the sole representative of Sri Lanka in the Asian Association of Management Organizations (AAMO), IMSL plays a crucial role in shaping the landscape of management practices in the country.
In addition to Prof. Kodithuwakku’s re-election, IMSL also conferred honorary fellowships upon three distinguished academics of Sri Lanka. Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Senior Prof. H.D. Karunaratne, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, and Prof. T. Mangaleswaran, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, were recognized for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.
Furthermore, Mr. Sanath Wijesinghe, the outgoing Honorary Treasurer, was honored with the Fellow status of the institution for his dedicated service.
